In recent years, Europe has experienced a significant increase in the frequency and intensity of wildfires. These extreme wildfires have resulted in devastating consequences, including the loss of life, destruction of natural habitats, damage to infrastructure and the release of harmful emissions impacting air quality.
In this context, FIRE-RES is launching an Open Innovation Challenge. We are offering experts, researchers, technologists, entrepreneurs, and innovators a chance to submit cutting-edge solutions addressing the challenges experienced by different stakeholders coping with the risks of extreme wildfires!
Winners of the Open Innovation Challenge will have the chance to field test their innovative solution in collaboration with the 10 FIRE-RES Living Labs. In addition, winners will receive support from our experts to scale up their solutions. A number of expenses relevant to this process may be covered on a case by case basis.
Which challenges do innovations have to address?
The challenges are organised under the following themes:
- Risk Communication and Awareness
